i had class from 8:15-5:00pm today, approximately (one hour break, one 45 minute break).
and i'm very overwhelmed with all the assignments (particularly in race & ethnicity).
i feel a bit like i'm jumping back into the hamster wheel of what we call a semester in graduate school.
but i'm thankful for thoughtful, thorough teachers (having a class discussion about what it would take for us to have useful and safe spaces to discuss issues of diversity (gender, race, sexuality, religion, etc.) which can be very personal and emotionally charged).
i love my spanish class! our teacher is very latina and outgoing. the class is mainly in spanish and today we practiced the first part of dialogue we would have if a spanish-speaking client came in to visit us:
buenos dias!
entra, por favor!
tome asiento, por favor!
and many more phrases that i'm forgetting. LOL
my favorite phrase thus far is: repita, por favor! or como say dice? ("repeat, please!" and "how do you say...?").
that's really all. nothing too new and exciting. well, maybe there are new and exciting things that don't seem as new and exciting because i am muy consada, pero bien!
the bummer part of the day: yesterday, we had a high of 46! today, it's snowing and frigid. so, i'm cozying up with some hot chocolate and my lover (who is currently going by: "Research Methods Study Critiques").
