iowa

this past weekend i watched my first marathon - it was awesome!! today i prayed "jesus, help me find a marathon and someone to run a marathon with." i think it's something i'd like to do, but i'd like to do it in community... so we'll see how that prayer goes.

after that, i went home to iowa (where i am now). right as i crossed over the border, i burst into tears because of how much i miss this state and the people in it. i tried to be present with jesus and cry it out... but the tears just kept flowing from this depth within me... so i finally just tried to do something else. the wicked soundtrack and my playlist of musicals helped for a few hours... but then it was still just painful.

as i've been here so far, it's been more than wonderful to be with my parents. i'm continually amazed at their servant's hearts, strength and love.

if you are praying for me... here's some direction:
- that the lord would "give me understanding according to his word"
- that i would be able to continue to enjoy time with them.
- that the return to chicago would be bittersweet with hints of joy (or, that it wouldn't be painful)
