chiu quon bakery

a recently discovered uptown (a neighborhood in chicago) treat: the chiu quon bakery.

delicious thai or chinese... i'm thinking chinese... pastries and lunch goodies that have become highly favored by myself and my fellow interns.

the sign. right off the argyle red line stop!

my lunchmates/fellow interns looking savvy. they should look savvy. they just paid $2.50 for a delicious lunch.

my $2.50 lunch. back: coconut sweet bun, front left: steamed red bean bun, front right: barbeque pork buo.

barbeque pork nestled in a deliciously light steamed bun... oh my mouth waters as i recall it...

my yummy steamed red bean bun. i spent a few moments hoping that cute red dot wasn't permanent marker or something worse.

inside of the red bean bun: red bean paste. YUM.

a day that held a crying, somalian, limited english client (it's hard to discern what type of help she needs when she can't speak english, she's crying, upset and her indifferent translator keeps telling me, 'she's saying she needs help.' it was exhausting... but so interesting...) definitely needed a delicious chiu quon pick-me-up.

  1. Oh-so-good....I think I'm going to have to follow suit with a post on this place, too. I, as you know, can hardly get enough. :)
