foodies

i should not be blogging right now.

there is too much to do.

but, i don't want to do it.

it's a simple equation.

this past weekend i was fortunate to travel to st. louis to visit a dear friend, allison schafer. since most of my experiences with her have a high correlation with delicious food, that is the focus of this blog.

forgive the terrible photogaphy. content, not quality :).

this is close to my favorite food in the world :: green onion pancakes

my first experience making ratatouille:

cheese on egg over easy, on sausage, on hashbrowns, framed with toast. i regretted this a few hours later. but oh, the greasy diner bliss it resulted in!

i came home to find that my lovely valentine's (i.e. mom and dad :)) had sent me my FAVORITE dutch treats from jaarsma bakery in pella!

puff pillows. to. die. for.

the trip also included watching the olympic opening ceremonies with international graduate students from washington university, cheering allison on in her first five mile race, learning about accepting grace and free box seat tickets to the st. louis symphony (a $220 value!).

and now, i acquiesce to reality and am off to do homework... eventually...
