iraq

just learned these things from my iraqi coworkers:

- there are currently 5 million iraqi refugees today.

- during saddam hussein's rule (a span of 20 years or so), over 7 million iraqi citizens went missing/were killed.

- the movie "hurt locker" is incredibly accurate.

- many of our client's favorite english word is "talkative".

- u.s. soldiers in iraq are not viewed as violent, angry americans.  they are respected, respectful and participate in serving the communities they are in (i.e. helping paint schools, etc.).  this is just from one man's perspective (an iraqi who worked as a translator for the u.s. army)... but i think it's important to note.

go watch "hurt locker" and "green zone".  be informed (the green zone encouragement is from my coworker... i've never even heard of it LOL).
