at the beginning of the semester, i posted all of my assignments on the wall of my bedroom for a visual of what was expected of me. i am happy to report the following picture:
compared to the original...
but, on a less happy note... between now and the first week of may (~6 weeks), i have 9 projects (either midterms or papers) to complete.
gulp!
lastly, to end on a positive (or a cherry - when sharing about our week, my high school girls would share their pits and cherries), i have lived in chicago well over 6 months and i feel i am settling in quite nicely! when i arrived, people said the average resettlement (for a "normal" american citizen) was 1-2 years. this was comforting and also discouraging at first. but after the challenge and difficulty (those words are not used lightly here) of the first few months, i think i am well above the normal curve in feeling 'at home'! i don't mean to sound like a braggart... i am just quite proud of myself! it's not been easy!
celebration! and now, studying.
